Radonjić: Lekić placed in custody for up to 72 hours, criminal proceedings initiated

Lawyer Damir Lekić has been placed in custody for up to 72 hours on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of money laundering involving €100,000, which was also temporarily seized from him by the police - Special Prosecutor and spokesperson Vukas Radonjić told ETV Portal.
The Special Police Department arrested Lekić this morning on the orders of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, and following his questioning, he was placed in custody for up to 72 hours.
- The special prosecutor proposed to the investigating judge of the High Court in Podgorica that supervisory measures be imposed on him, namely a ban on leaving his residence and a ban on meeting with certain individuals, with the threat of detention in the event of a breach of these measures - Radonjić said.
He added that the issuance of an order to open an investigation formally initiated criminal proceedings against Lekić, who is now a defendant in the case.
- In gathering evidence concerning the criminal offence, the Special State Prosecutor’s Office and the Special Police Department were assisted by the Border Police Sector of the Police Directorate and the National Security Agency - Radonjić concluded.
