President of the Parliament of Montenegro sends condolences to son of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Andrija Mandić, expressed his condolences following the death of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić.

- I have just sent my condolences to Darko Mladić, on my own behalf and on behalf of the New Serbian Democracy, following the death of his father, General Ratko Mladić – Mandić wrote yesterday in a post on X.

Mladić, who was the commander-in-chief of the Army of Republika Srpska, died yesterday at the age of 85 in a prison in The Hague.

Ratko Mladić, who was born in Kalinovik, was finally convicted in June 2021 before the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague of genocide in Srebrenica, persecution of civilians, extermination and murder, deportation and other inhumane acts, terrorising the population of Sarajevo, unlawful attacks on Sarajevo, and the taking of UN personnel hostage. The court found him guilty on 10 of the 11 counts of the indictment.
