Marjan Vujačić extradited from Serbia to Montenegro, transferred to prison

Marjan Vujačić (41), a Montenegro citizen sentenced to 14 years and four months in prison for murder, illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, and document forgery, was extradited today from Serbia to Montenegro, the Police Directorate announced.

The extradition was carried out by Interpol Podgorica with the support of the Special Police Unit.

As recalled, Vujačić was sentenced by a final verdict of the High Court in Podgorica on December 22 last year.

- By this verdict of the High Court in Podgorica, the judgment of the High Court in Vranje dated March 19, 2024, was recognized, which was issued against Vujačić for the aforementioned criminal offenses committed on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The same ruling also modified, in terms of sentencing, the judgments of the High Court in Novi Sad - Special Department for Combating Corruption from December 10, 2020, and the judgment of the High Court in Vranje from March 2, 2022, which, regarding the legal classification of the criminal offense and the decision on the criminal sanction, was modified by the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Niš dated October 24, 2022 – it was specified in the statement.

In addition, NCB Interpol Podgorica had issued an international arrest warrant for Vujačić on suspicion that he committed two counts of aggravated murder in Montenegro - the aggravated murder of V. K. on November 19 2018 in Podgorica, and the aggravated murder of M. I. on April 29 2019, also in Podgorica.

- After being taken over and transferred, Vujačić was escorted, under heightened security measures, to the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) - the Police Directorate stated.
