Basic State Prosecutor’s Office formed a case over the leak of internal information; Martinović: Đukanović was questioned as a citizen, he has no status as a suspect

Businessman Aco Đukanović today gave a statement at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in the capacity of a citizen regarding the search of his apartment on Karađorđevića Street and the documentation found during that search. According to his lawyer Nikola Martinović, in this case he does not have the status of a suspect or defendant.
Martinović announced that the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office has initiated and formed a case concerning the leak and publication of information that had been marked as internal from this case, which later appeared in the media and in political debates.
- As you saw, today Aco Đukanović came to the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office to give a statement as a citizen regarding the search carried out in his apartment on Karađorđevića Street. This concerns questioning Aco Đukanović as a citizen about the circumstances of the search itself and the documentation found during that search. Today, for the first time, the documentation was presented to him for review, that is, he was allowed to look through it for the first time, after which he gave detailed statements about everything and answered all the questions asked by the state prosecutor - Martinović said after the hearing of Đukanović.
Martinović pointed out that, as his defense attorney, he found it interesting that Đukanović explained everything that was important for the prosecutor.

It should be recalled that the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Nikšić, after the hearing, issued a decision ordering detention and submitted a proposal for pre-trial detention of businessman Aco Đukanović due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive materials.
Detention was proposed, as explained by the Nikšić prosecutor’s office, due to the risk of flight.
Đukanović was detained due to reasonable suspicion that he had illegally kept weapons and ammunition in his house in Nikšić.
He was questioned for several hours by the duty prosecutor Vanja Sinđić. Shortly after 3 p.m., lawyers Nikola Martinović, Neda Ivović and Ana Đukanović, the sister of the arrested Đukanović, arrived at the Nikšić prosecutor’s office.
He was arrested after police, during a search of his family home in Rastoci near Nikšić, found weapons and ammunition.
During searches in Podgorica, certain documentation was seized.
