Živković on the group from Belgrade in Tivat: It does not surprise me that Vučić had the idea of gathering several dozen of his loyal supporters

It does not surprise me that (Aleksandar) Vučić had some idea of gathering several dozen of his loyal and devoted supporters, people who are willing to stand by him out of affection, but more likely because of money and the prospect of being forgiven for future criminal offenses - former Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Živković told Television E, commenting on reports that a group of men from Belgrade had been detained at Tivat Airport for security checks ahead of the EU - Western Balkans Summit.
The EU - Western Balkans Summit will be held tomorrow and the day after tomorrow in Tivat.
- Of course, this is dirty, unpleasant, and primitive politics. If this was done by the Montenegrin security service and police, then I welcome such a reaction - Živković said.
He was adamant that there is absolutely no need for anyone to bring such a group with them for protection.
- ...because there is certainly serious security at that gathering that protects all participants, including that, what was his name again, Vučić - Živković concluded.
According to sources cited by M Portal, the men are part of a group accompanying Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on the eve of the two-day EU - Western Balkans Summit, which will take place tomorrow and the following day in Tivat.
Earlier this morning, Montenegrin police detained a charter flight from Belgrade at Tivat Airport carrying approximately 90 Serbian citizens due to heightened security checks ahead of the EU - Western Balkans Summit, while authorities investigated the reasons for their arrival and stay in Montenegro.
The authorities stated that inspections of these individuals and verification of the grounds for their arrival and stay are ongoing, and that all appropriate measures and actions, including restrictive measures where legal grounds exist, will be taken in accordance with the law.
As explained, the aircraft was held on the runway at Tivat Airport to allow for detailed checks of the arriving passengers and the reasons for their visit, given the heightened security measures in place ahead of the EU - Western Balkans Summit.
