The Europe Now Movement leaves the local government in Pljevlja
We tell the leaders of New Serbian Democracy and Democratic Montenegro that, unlike them, we have remained consistent with the position and agreement we had and publicly communicated. We are also ready and open to dialogue and redefining relations, but exclusively in the interest of the citizens of Pljevlja, not for the distribution of positions – they stated in the Europe Now Movement
The Europe Now Movement announced that it is withdrawing from the local government in Pljevlja. As they emphasized, this decision comes after months of political deadlock and the continued avoidance of signing a coalition agreement.
They stressed that they do not want to be part of a government where there are no clear rules, political agreements, and accountability to citizens.
- Without a coalition agreement and basic trust among partners, it is not possible to run a stable and responsible local administration or to implement projects important for the development of Pljevlja – the Europe Now Movement stated.
They added that in the local parliament they will act as a responsible and constructive political actor, supporting all decisions that are in the interest of citizens, while also pointing out political irresponsibility.
- On this occasion, we congratulate our coalition partners on adopting the budget and reaching an agreement without the participation of the Europe Now Movement. At the same time, we inform the leaders of the New Serbian Democracy and Democratic Montenegro that, unlike them, we have remained consistent with the position and agreement we had and publicly communicated. We are also ready and open to dialogue and redefining relations, but exclusively in the interest of the citizens of Pljevlja, not for the distribution of positions – they stated in the Europe Now Movement.
The Europe Now Movement, as they emphasize, has never viewed politics as a struggle for positions and privileges.
