Red Notice for Medenica published on Interpol’s official website, the Police Directorate calls on citizens to report any information they may have

At the request of the Police Directorate, the Interpol General Secretariat in Lyon today published a public international Red Notice for Miloš Medenica (39), who has been on the run for two days, following the issuance of a first-instance sentence of ten years and two months in prison for the criminal offense of forming a criminal organization.

NCB Interpol Podgorica issued an international wanted notice for Miloš Medenica yesterday, in accordance with an order of the High Court in Podgorica and with the approval of the Ministry of Justice.

- Pursuant to the Interpol Red Notice issued in accordance with the relevant court order, Miloš Medenica is being sought internationally for the purpose of conducting criminal proceedings under the indictment of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office of Montenegro, for the following criminal offenses: forming a criminal organization, continued criminal offense of smuggling, two criminal offenses of unlawful influence through aiding and abetting, continued criminal offense of enabling the use of narcotic drugs, continued criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, grievous bodily harm through incitement, and obstruction of justice - the police recalled.

The Police Directorate called on citizens to report any information they may have regarding Medenica’s movements or whereabouts by calling 122, via the Virtual Police Station application (which allows anonymous reporting), at the nearest police station, or by any other means.

- NCB Interpol Podgorica will continuously inform the public about persons subject to national and international searches, with a particular focus on members of organized criminal groups and perpetrators of the most serious criminal offenses - the police stated.
