The Director of the Police Directorate Lazar Šćepanović has ordered that emails, through which reports of allegedly planted bombs are typically received, be checked at least one hour before the start of classes. He also instructed that preventive inspections of school premises be carried out daily until the end of the school year.

As emphasized by the police, this measure has been introduced to ensure the uninterrupted and safe conduct of classes, alongside the implementation of urgent and intensified preventive actions.

- Police officers will, in the early morning hours, in cooperation with private security agencies responsible for school protection, act more intensively at least one hour before classes begin, every day until the end of the school year, and conduct preventive inspections of educational facilities. This is aimed at preventing hybrid activities by individuals and interest groups whose goal is to disturb the public, create a sense of insecurity, and undermine citizens’ trust in institutions - the statement said.

The officers from the High-Tech Crime Suppression Units within the Criminal Police Sector will, in cooperation with international partners, continue intensive efforts to identify the senders and process the reports received so far.

The Police Directorate also appealed to parents to pay special attention to their children’s activities in cyberspace and to speak with them about the importance of respecting the law and the possible consequences of such illegal behavior.

- The shared goal of the Police Directorate, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and school administrations is to resolve such situations quickly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the teaching process and while ensuring the safety of students and staff. The Police Directorate will take all legally prescribed measures and actions to prevent disruptions to classes and exams, and to ensure that anyone attempting to cause panic or interrupt the educational process is quickly identified and prosecuted - the police concluded.
