Mijajlović still without decent conditions in prison custody

Businessman Aleksandar Mijajlović continues to be held under strict conditions in the Remand Prison, the ETV portal has learned. The Podgorica-based businessman has still not been allowed walks under the same conditions as other detainees, in several different exercise yards, but instead, as we have learned, only one smaller yard has been designated for him for this activity.

Mijajlović’s conditions in the Remand Prison have been worsened for quite some time. After several reports aired on Television E and the public disclosure of the treatment of this detainee, he was summoned for a meeting with Vladimir Šćepanović, the head of the Remand Prison. According to information obtained by our portal, he was then promised that he would be allowed to take walks in five out of a total of eight exercise yards.

However, as we have learned, nothing has changed, and the order remains in force that Mijajlović is only allowed to walk in one yard, which consists of some fifty steps of a concreted surface.

For clarification, prison walks, which are allowed twice a day for 30 minutes each, can be taken in several different yards, shorter or longer, equipped with various exercise facilities.

It is symptomatic that this concerns conditions that, as a rule, belong to every detainee, yet here we are witnessing, albeit in a negative sense, special treatment of a single detainee.

This raises the question - why is someone making an effort to ensure that Mijajlović does not have decent conditions in the Prison Administration?
